الملخص
Sustainable development has become the most important elements in the evolution and prosperity of developed countries during the current age, due to its importance in the utilization of the resources and energies of communities. In addition to the great role of governance towards the transition to a capitalist economic system in developed countries generally, and Iraq in particular. Therefore, the study addressed the activation of the governance role's through its main pillars (transparency, accountability, empowerment, equality, participation, combating corruption and the rule of law) to promote the implementation of sustainable development strategies in Iraq. After analyzing the practical data, which included a comparison of the governance indicators in Iraq, and that based on World Bank data of governance, the researchers concluded that there are strong impact relationship and a positive correlation for governance in implementation the sustainable development strategies.
